“WHEN YOU DO GOOD, YOU FEEL GOOD”
And when you’re drumming and dancing with a loving community of friends, you feel really good.
If you know this feeling and would like to share it with some folks who could really use it, please help me raise the money needed to purchase hand drums and hula-hoops for the children and teachers of Sandy Hook Connecticut.
#26ACTS OF KINDNESS…. ARE YOU IN?
The goal of the Hand Drums & Hula-Hoops initiative is to provide the Sandy Hook community with hand drums and hula-hoops so that they can each create their own circles of love, both large and small whenever the spirit moves them for many years to come.
Together, we can make it happen.
In the spirit of #26acts, please consider donating $26.00 (or more) if you can. If you can’t at this time, no problem – feel free to send your good vibes and positive messages of love to the school or greater community on the form below and I’ll be sure to pass your message along.
Although nothing can erase the sad realities of December 14th, kind acts from people around the world are helping to change the prevailing culture of violence and foster loving communities. We are turning sad days into happy ones and for my neighbors in Newtown CT, this has never been more important.
Workshops For the Sandy Hook Community at Healing Arts:
Newtown CT has opened a beautiful, dedicated Healing Arts Space in downtown Newtown that’s perfect for workshops and programs for large and small groups. Click in and see it here: HealingNewtown.org
My Circles Of Love is planning several indoor drumming, creative arts and hooping workshops for April and May with the help of a professional healing arts therapist, several professional drum circle facilitators and the leaders/hoopers from bringtheHoopla LLC .
Depending upon the amount of money raised, we hope to have the kids create and take home their own “hoopla-hoops” and rhythm instruments following participation in the workshops.
Hand Drum & Hula-Hoop “Festival”
In addition, outdoor community activities are being planned for this summer where workshop participants can bring their hoops and drums and join the greater community in festive musical, dance, art and rhythmic activities in a festival-like atmosphere
We hope to provide the kids, teachers, parents and siblings from Sandy Hook Elementary and Newtown with live music, crafts, experiential drumming, hooping, dancing, games and food. Location, dates and details are in discussion with festival organizers.
The number of items presented and donated depends upon how much money I can raise.
As a neighbor to the folks in Newtown, (and close friend with a few of its residents) I can assure you that every penny you donate will go directly to purchasing these items and will be personally delivered to those directly affected by this tragedy. Your help and generosity will be greatly appreciated by all.
